Product Description
Singing bowls are a type of bell: when struck, the sides and rim of singing bowls vibrate to produce a ringing tone. These sounds invoke a deep state of relaxation which naturally assists one in entering into meditation, and it is believed that meditating on the subtle sounds of the Tibetan singing bowl tunes one in to the universal sound within and without.
According to Tibetan oral tradition, the existence of singing bowls dates back to the time of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni (560 – 480 B.C.). Today, in addition to their traditional usage for meditation, Tibetan singing bowls are used for deep relaxation, stress reduction, holistic healing, Reiki, chakra balancing, and World music.
This beautiful singing bowl from India comes with mallet and cushion, and is a lovely addition to any room as a decoration, or for its singing qualities. The bowl is about 13.5cm diameter and 7.5cm high. (Please note the cushion and mallet colour may not match the picture exactly.)
